(Apologies if Im repeating what other people have said, as I havent read through the 100's of posts)
Everyone seems to give vipers a bad reputation (It wasnt the vipers that rolled the unicorns just because we are allied with the people who did doesnt mean we agreed with it thats why we didnt fight back when you all got your revenge on the tarantulas as they made their own bed) if your with them your with them & they will move heaven & earth to keep you safe and help you in any way they can/point you in the right direction for the help you need (as I remember it at the parliament we pretty much had to move hell or most of its daemons to get to save our own) I know I dont have that much experience personally of other factions or even that much experience of events, as I myself have only attended moot 2, G 2007 & vipers winter parliament so far. From my experience the sanctioned/smaller events are the best place to get to know people within the faction as you will find that the main faction characters will be in attendance for you to mingle with and get to know -note- you cant really be shy, you have to speak up and throw yourself into things else you wont really get much out of the events, as you wont get involved with many things- as I found out myself at my first events as it was rather daunting not knowing that many people at the large event and not being before and knowing how things work...etc there were so many people it was kind of scary. I found the parliament a big help to get to know more people in the faction, get myself known more and build bridges/relationships/friendships with different people/characters that I will be able to then hopefully use at next years main events. Vipers arent bad people! and they arent a dark faction pursae - depends on your point of view and how you perceive things. there are various small groups within the vipers (and most/all factions) in the vipers most of these are probably nearly always looking for members (can you ever have too many member?!) they all get on and various groups interlink and have built bridges with each other within the faction and will look out for each other Ok I admit there are a few strange people in the vipers with the werewolves and all the green/brown skins there seem to be but there are rules to follow in those cases. as I saw at the parliament the faction members lives are worth more than anything and we will always fight to save our own (if they were stupid though and made their own bed then thats a different story) at the parliament we only had 3 character fatalities, one could have been avoided if we could have broken through the attack line 1 minute earlier- but from that players prospective he was a bit miffed that hed lost his character in the middle of the event but also knew that we did everything we could to get there as soon as was possible and the other players and organizers helped him sort out another character and costume for the rest of the weekend. Do you have any friends/know people that are involved in LT already?? I know people in 3/4 other factions so I have other options if I want- as I say you cant be shy you have to throw yourself in at the deep end to make new friends. So ultimately its your choice and up to you where you lay your bed. Wouldnt like to be you having to decide-so many choices, so many decisions, so many options (Im not good at making decision with lots of options) you kind of have to choose a faction to pitch your camp in unless you go for a guild or camp in the factionless area in which case that may give you the chance to find out what other factions are like, and how you get on with them So the decision is yours..... |

Yes the best place to get involved is the sanctioned events, in many ways these are better than the main events as at the main events the assumption even by the faction is that "you must be with someone else" at the sanctioned events however they are more aware of everyone around them.
I would recomend the Unicorns or the Hearts. In fact go on the unicorns lay, say you are new and ask for advice from Peter and he will help you establish a character fitting in with faction plot and groups. |

ok im 18 and I started this year. I needed a group that I could joina dn would take me in. People who I could actually go to if I needed help. Basically somone to look after me lol!
The vipers have given me the best support. I am part of clan mountain and when im with them role playing somtimes i have to go out of charecter because I am holding my sides laughing. They are a great bunch of people and the high command are really friendly. Although they probably dont remember much about me ive chatted to all of them in confidence. I did almost join the bears but not many of them were prepared to say hello to me. Probably for IC reasons although i did meet some very friendly bears and the females made me feel right at home... but snowy the warewolf didnt like me  The bears seem like a good laugh but I didnt feel comfortable with them. Ok also, yes the vipers are sposed to be "evil" but I dont play a evil charecter. Also, clan mountain wouldnt just attack somone for no reason. So I wouldnt call ourselves evil evil if you see what Im getting at. In my experiance I would say join the vipers (especially clan mountain!) as they dont seem to hold it against you if its your new in the LT system and go to join somone and then decided you were happier as a viper. However, you guys seem more mature and would probably fit into the bears but you should deffinetly give clan mountain of the vipers and the bears a visit. |

Just to clarify on behalf of Delluseonist, he means the high command of the Vipers may not remember him. Not the high command of Clan Mountain (they remember lots of people).
Though i will say, don't be so hard on yourself, D! I'm sure the Viper command remember you and the good impressions you made! |

lol i found out the other day that peter is still a viper even though hes head of unicorn plot?!
see if i wanted to then i could have tried to push our easy going group onto this person asking for advice like clan mountain have all through the boards but i chose to let the group make their own mind up. TBF i know so many people that want out of the unicorns and that are coming over to the vipers...lol their coming to the darker side lol ... we have cookies! & tea if you visit the harts lol but seen as how everyone else has mentioned their group im part of The Phoenix Company our ancestor beeing youl never guess the phoenix. we are a military type group and have over 500 men/members to be PC although not that many players so we are always looking for people to play some of the masses of people we should have- i cant really tell you that much history about our group as i havnt memorised it all yet as i said before i have only been to 3 events. but if you would like to know more phoenixone.8.forumer.com/...7394946349 or email me at brainy_blonde1@hotmail.com and i will pass on any Qs or queries to someone who will be able to answer them better |

Heyho,
I'm a Unicorn so don't know massive amounts about the other factions but it seems that the only two factions that are really actively hating each other at the moment are the Unicorns and the Tarantulas. The reasons for this are all IC and all very complicated. As such I would say that neither the Unicorns or the Trannies are a good place to be for new players as there is quite a high chance of characters getting slotted. Most of the factions are pretty good with new players/groups. The vipers seem to be quite insane but they aren't really, well maybe, but they are fun. Given the potential makeup of your group the Gryphons might be a reasonable bet - or the Lions. Hope this helps. |

What is your problem "Brainy" blonde? Clan Mountain haven't been pushing ourselves on poor widdle people who only want advice and not to be pushed around by big scary mountain men! We are offering advice and much more, people are free to take it or leave it.
We simply offer links and contacts and occaisonal opinions. If anyone has a problem with that, maybe it's because people are joining us instead of them! I'm not here to pick fights, but I won't have my group slandered by you or anybody else. |

As if one of the Ilharess' would ever take anything less than the very strongest, bravest, loyal, and faithful of Drow males as their patron! Even if they did have such a taker, even before the ceremony was over the whip marks would firmly be on the males back with a clear sign that she was in charge  *ahem* I mean, feel free to send any takers to the Tarantulas camp. I have no doubt we can find a use for them

As for trannies and unicorns getting married, thats interesting. A while ago I started a thread asking what would happen if a vier married a bear. LOL! Well I dont have much of a chance in that anymore. hehe ^_^ |

well it did seem that way every post you click on there was someone on about clan mountain OTT not generally the best way to get known ook people remember but not necisarilly in a good way.
there allready is a bear and viper married isnt there?! (viper ref rob <cant remember IC name> is i think married to bear?or thats what i got told) i do reckon that the weird traditional weddings that were happening at our parliment may make for an amusing time when it turns out that a unicorn and tranny be wed |

We just do what works for us in order to spread our name and get new people joinging us. It's going very well.
There a number of groups we find quite laughable - in the bad way - but we never act so discourtious as to name them. This is out of respect to the game plan of players on the forum and to Lorien Trust themselves, who i'm sure don't want to represented by petty sniping on their forums. Also, there are plenty of groups who use these forums as much as we do or more (we don't use these things very often as our other networking schemes are working very nicely - recently we assimilated a whole group from the Wolves!). Perhaps we just get noticed more than others for some reason (which does more good than harm, as far as I care). Don't be so quick to think that the good things people say about us are OTT, meet us, hang out, see us in action! Those who have are genarating a good fraction of what hype there is about us! That's all I have to say on the matter. So unless you catch us specifically slagging you or your group off, we would appreciate recieving the same courtisy we give out. About your queery: there is no married Viper/Bear couple to my knowledge. If you want more info on such a matter, Delluseonist posted a thread titled "What would happen if a bear and a viper got married?" in General Discussion a while back. Maybe you'd like to read that. |

Haha! Well I wanted to marry a bear girl. I knew it would annoy morragin.... i think thats the one anyway. Bacially when i wanted to join the bears a queen said "if you do anything to betray us il kill you" So now my IC aim in life is to piss her off royaly. Now i think ive pissed her off too much LOL! Big fido will now what im on about :P

A Trannie marrying would depend on if they were male or female. A Drow male is likely to be told who he's marrying, a Drow female is going to take a partner for as long as they interest her. However, there is more to the Trannies than just Drow, and a marriage between the two groups at the heart of the conflict would throw in some interesting roleplay (not in a bedroom way ;p). If it would end hostilities is another matter. |

Meh, may aswell throw my 2stell in :P
I`m starting a new group myself, so far with 2 members (Aegis and Talon ^^). My new group "House Of The Blue Sun" is to a degree based off the firm "Blue Sun" off Firefly (a Sci-Fi show, watch it, its good), and to start off with the house is going to be Mercentile rather than a full on Combat house (so your character aint hopefully gonna die in your first event). The House`s main idea is to make money and get their members developed in skills where one can make better armour, weapons, potions, poisons, bodyguard work, message relaying and other associated work to make the house and its members well equipped, rich and powerful. The faction we are in atm is the Gryphons, but being a mercentile house we may move to different factions from time to time (though not for the first few years after we are established) |
